Helen Myers received her A.B. degree from the University of Chicago in 1938. She and her family moved to Los Angeles in 1946. She was a paid worker and volunteer for the Red Cross and Community Chest. She was elected to the Los Angeles County Democratic Central Committee in 1948 and was active in the Young Democrats.
